Breathe Easy appliances reduce snoring and sleep loss from sleep apnea

Types of Appliances

Allesee Snoring Appliance

This appliance is a single unit appliance that engages both upper and lower arches. The large anterior airway slot and material options ensure a comfortable and functional fit. Appliance is dual hardness with soft liner, hard plastic and made of elastsometric silicone. Also available in upper only.

Removable Herbst

The removable Herbst postures the mandible forward into a “Class III” relationship. The hinging motion permits opening and closing movements. The appliance may be adjusted for additional advancement as required.

Elastic Mandibular Advancement

This appliance consists of upper and lower pressure formed splints. Special pads are embedded in the posterior quadrants to produce freeway opening. A kit of interchangeable elastic straps provides means of advancement.

How Breathe Easy appliances work

Breathe Easy is a group of appliances that open the patient’s airway by repositioning the mandible, tongue, soft plate and uvula. They stabilize the lower jaw and bring it forward so that the patient’s airway remains open, with air flowing freely through the nose and into the lungs. The vast majority of patients with mild and moderate OSA can be effectively treated with Breathe Easy and have their symptoms eliminated or greatly reduced.

Breathe Easy appliance options

 

  • Breathe Easy Splint- made of a durable, dual-hardness thermoplastic. The soft inside portion fits against the teeth and is flexible for maximum comfort while the outer edge is firm for maximum durability and hygiene. Breathe EasyTM Splint is just 3mm thick and under normal use lasts for at least three years. Also available in upper only.
  • Breathe Easy Herbst—postures the mandible forward into a “Class III” relationship. It is fully adjustable, providing patients the ability to advance the mandible in small increments until the OSA symptoms have diminished.
  • Breathe EasyTM EMA—consists of upper and lower pressure formed splints. Special pads are embedded in the posterior quadrants to produce a freeway opening. A kit of interchangeable elastic straps provide for easy advancement.
